Our newsletter is also available on our website in English and French

Hello everyone. Welcome to our first edition of 2007!
We hope you enjoy our new newsletter format and logo. We'd also like to announce the official launch of our brand new website, which will be up and running in mid-February at our usual address www.cooplamaisonverte.com.
This brand new site features information about the Co-op, events, eco tips, links and more. It will also be frequently updated by special eco-contributors including Veronique Vendette (SOS Plančte) and Jean Lapalme, who will keep us up to speed on current environmental issues and events! We are also working towards a complete catalogue of our products, and online sales.
To celebrate, we'd like to invite you to join us for a pre-Valentine's Day "Love the Co-op" wine and cheese website launch, Monday, Feb. 12, 7 p.m.
Special thanks go out to Annelise Dekker for our logo re-design, and Natasha Geerts and Izaak Branderhorst of Typeleft Publishing for creating the new site.
Thanks to: Gilles Rondeau - Translation; Johanne Bouthillier - Revision; Sharon Leslie - Members' Corner

2007 Action Communiterre Calendar - not just a calendar, but filled with recipes and expert advice on organic gardening and when to plant what!
Thanks to the hard work of NDG community members, those of modest income may now become owners of environmental, innovative, condo-style units on the Benny Farm site.
The Affordable Home Ownership Initiative (AHOI), sponsored by Habitations Communautaires NDG, has incorporated cutting edge environmental and energy-saving features in the redevelopment of existing units at Benny Farm.
Geothermal technology will provide an estimated 65 per cent of annual heating needs, decreasing reliance on traditional fuel sources and significantly reducing heating costs. Many materials from the site's original units were salvaged and re-used in the renovations, including hot water radiators. Highly efficient thermal glass, separate heat controls in each room and access to a community garden are further examples of the project's overall commitment to the environment.
New owners will be moving into AHOI's first building as early as March 2007, with two more affordable home ownership projects are currently slated for occupancy for fall 2007 and early 2008.There are still many opportunities for newcomers to purchase and we are looking forward to finding others to be a part of this initiative.
The project's features and financing will be presented to potential purchasers at upcoming information sessions. To reserve a space, contact the AHOI information line: 514-886-7462. Additional information may be obtained on our website: www.hcndg.org
