Message to Members

Dear members, we would like to inform you that La Maison Verte will be closing our store and moving to Asia. We're sorry, but doing business in Montreal just isn't profitable enough and we want to exploit cheap labour while we can. Thanks for your comprehension...

"April fools!!!!!"

You know we'd never leave you!

Welcome to our April edition. Now that we've got your attention we want to remind you that Sunday, April 22 is Earth Day, and La Maison Verte's annual celebration takes an Alternative Transportation focus this year. Bring your bikes by for one on one maintenance and tune up tips with workers from Recycle Bicycle, and visit information tables featuring a variety of alternative transportation groups in Montreal. Also enjoy free coffees and great live music by the fabulous Mike O'Brien, and more.

Don't forget to check www.cooplamaisonverte.com for updated store information, and to visit our popular new blog Eco Logic where writers are discussing eco issues from light bulbs to medication disposal to the situation in Darfour.

Also, we are now hiring for two part time positions in the store! If you are a hard worker, interested in environmental issues, and want to be part of our dynamic team, please drop off a CV and cover letter in person before April 15.

Volunteer opportunity: Spring-cleaning at the Co-op, May 6. We need several volunteers to lend a hand with cleaning, rearranging, and other store maintenance. Free lunch and drinks included, but call us to sign on in advance (ask for Jason).

Thanks to: Gilles Rondeau - Translation; Johanne Bouthillier - Revision

To the garden!

Don't forget that we've got a diversity of organic vegetable, herb and flower seeds, as well as natural fertilizers, books and gardening calendars on sale right now!
