Board of Directors

Co-op La Maison Verte's Board of Directors is made up of volunteer members who represent their member category in deciding on the general orientations of the Co-op.

Its nine elected members represent all three member categories equally: Three user members, three support members and three worker members.

If you have questions or topics to bring up to one of your representatives on the Board, do not hesitate to contact us and we will get back to you ASAP.

Meet our current Board:

Helene Mayer, User Member - President of La Maison Verte
Helene brings many years of experience in Administrative Management and Communications to the Board. She has been contributing her time to the Coop since 2004 and was elected in October 2005.

Jennifer Grier, User Member
Intense green power in an environmentally friendly package! Jen is born and raised in NDG. She is a concerned citizen and social worker who believes in ecology. She was elected to the Board in September 2006.

Yves Saint-Pierre, User member
Montreal born and raised, Yves Pierre continues to teach English Literature at John-Abbott College, as he has done for the last twenty years. Yves's prior work experience includes youth work and community organization. An avid canoe-tripper and outdoorsman, Yves completely supports the principles that animate the coop. He was elected to the Board in September 2006.

Eric Shragge, Support Member
Eric has 20 years of experience in Community Development. He was elected to the Board in October 2005.

Susan Gyetvay, Support Member
Susan has been the director of Big Smiles Daycare Centre for the past eleven years. She was President of the board for two terms. During her first year as president of the board of directors, she also served on the finance and the AGM committees. She was elected to the Board in October 2005.

Kurt Houghton, Worker Member
Kurt has a degree in Environmental Science from McGill University where he was involved in the Organic Food Co-op. He has been Store Coordinator at the Coop since September 2004. He was elected to the Board in September 2005.

Jessica Vihvelin, Worker Member
Jessica is mid-way through a degree in History and Environment at McGill University, and has been working at the Co-op since last October. She was elected to the Board in September 2006.

Elections at the Annual General Meeting

All members are strongly encouraged to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM). It's the place to get up to speed on the Co-op's activities, vote on important topics and, most importantly, elect your Board members.
