Transforming Concern into Clout
January 31, 2009
With Sharon Leslie, MA
Do you often feel very concerned, yet overwhelmed, about what is taking place in your workplace, your neighborhood, the world? Do you find yourself wondering how you could make a difference on such complicated challenges? Do you wish you could become involved but do not know quite how to go about it? Are you already taking steps to bring about change but would like to increase your effectiveness?
Participating in this interactive "hands on" workshop will help you discover ways of translating concerns about your world into actions that can help shape things in ways you feel are more positive. Through a variety of activities, you will leave more confident and better prepared to act and provide leadership to issues that concern you.

Rewarding Work: Six keys to Success & Satisfaction
With Izabel Coutu, MA, David Gobby, MA & Anne Waymann, MA
February 14, 2009
In the past, productivity was regarded by many as strictly a technical process of measuring output based on work processes, labour hours and measures of labour effort. After decades of research, we know that productivity is inextricably linked to creating healthy human relations, increasing trust and the quality of relationships and increasing the emphasis of intrinsic rewards that motivate people to work together efficiently and effectively towards a common set of goals.
The purpose of this workshop is to introduce participants to the six criteria identified by Fred Emery and Einar Thursud that underpin workplace productivity. In presenting the six criteria, the workshop will also introduce participants to the principles of Open Systems Theory (OST), particularly organizational design and the analysis of an organization in the context of its environment.
